This position is funded by State Compensatory Education funds. The At-Risk Data and Outreach Clerk is a full-time, year-round position responsible for reviewing and auditing student records—such as Texas Records Exchange (REx) files and enrollment data—to identify risk indicators, support needs, and alerts that may warrant escalation to student support teams. The role ensures accurate and timely data entry related to at-risk coding, economically disadvantaged status, and other student support flags. Additionally, this position helps generate outreach lists and communicates key findings to appropriate school or district personnel to support student re-engagement and success.

This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.
The hourly rate for the position is $18.00
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
- Audits student records (e.g., TREx files, enrollment documents, academic history) to identify potential support needs or concerns that require escalation.
- Reviews data for indicators such as at-risk status, economically disadvantaged status, enrollment gaps, academic flags, or missing documentation.
- Maintains accurate and current records in internal systems to support compliance, reporting, and student support planning.
- Generates reports or alerts based on audit findings and shares them with the appropriate internal teams (e.g., engagement specialists, counseling, school leadership).
- Conducts initial outreach to students and/or families identified as disengaged, based on audit data, in collaboration with school teams and engagement staff.
- Supports school staff by identifying students who may require follow-up or re-engagement, based on trends in the data.
- Determines eligibility for free or reduced lunch programs and enters related information in designated systems.
- Uploads and organizes both electronic and physical documents to prepare for regular compliance audits.
- Assists with data collection, entry, and updates for all relevant indicators tied to state reporting and internal monitoring.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three (3) years of data entry experience
Certificates and Licenses: None required.
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear verbal and written communication
- Ability to perform multiple tasks synchronously
- Ability to use web-based database programs to enter and monitor education information
- Moderate proficiency in Microsoft(MS) Excel and Outlook. Basic proficiency in MS Word.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to the office for work projects including school-specific mailings, trainings and as otherwise necessary
- Ability to clear required background check
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma
- Experience working with student records, especially Family Income Forms (FIF) and other forms as may be associated with economically disadvantaged status
- Experience with TREx and student record systems
- Familiarity with student support workflows, risk flagging, or data-informed outreach
- Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting student academic records and data
