Job Summary
The Auxiliary Teacher position is responsible for teaching in an infant, toddler, two-year old, three-year old or four- year old classroom program in the Coleman Center, by either co-teaching or teaching independently, and reports to the Director of Coleman Center.
Minimum Qualifications
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Experience working with children in a group format
3. Strong written and oral communication skills
4. Knowledge of curriculum and child development
5. Energetic and positive attitude
6. Ability to develop excellent working relationships
Preferred Qualifications
1. A Child Development Associate (CDA) OR Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field OR at least (9) credit hours of college coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development from a regionally accredited institution
2. Previous experience working with children in a group format in an Alabama DHR licensed child care center
3. Previous experience with Creative Curriculum or Conscious Discipline
Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties? Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility
