Job Description  | General Description:
The Benefits and ADA Support Specialist will be responsible for providing a high-level of customer service to visitors, applicants, staff and faculty of NOVA by providing information about agency benefits. The incumbent will work to problem-solve issues that arise with benefits, guiding and advocating for employees and the college. In consultation with the ADA Coordinator, the Benefits and ADA Support Specialist will provide professional guidance to the workforce on ADA process and assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of NOVA’s disability case management and training efforts.

Duties and Tasks:
Support the Benefits Unit within Human Resources in administering benefits to all staff and faculty. Process benefit election forms (health, disability, life insurance, voluntary retirement programs to include 403b and 457 plans). Responds to employees and third party inquiries and perform other duties as assigned. The Benefits and ADA Support Specialist will serve as point of contact for ADA requests received,. In consultation with ADA Coordinator, the Benefits and ADA Support Specialist will determine how to proceed in responding to inquiries concerning employee accommodations and the College’s accommodation process. The Benefits and ADA Support Specialist will support the ADA Coordinator in triaging requests, coordinating and analyzing documentation collected to support each case. The Benefits and ADA Support Specialist will coordinate and schedule meetings necessary to make accommodation determinations. The Benefits and ADA Support Specialist will provide training on ADA and PWFA, as needed, to supervisors.

Essential Functions:
Answers questions from vendors, employees and staff providing information on all benefits offered by the college by phone, e-mail, and in person. Monitors SmarterTrack inquiries, responding to general inquiries and distributing more complex inquiries to appropriate senior benefits staff. Serves as primary contact for Optional Life administration and processes all related forms. Serves as primary contact for Legal Resources and processes all related forms. Performs Optional Life and FBMC billing reconciliations. Prepares HIPAA notices for new hires. Processes 403b Salary Reduction Agreement Forms. Serve as the initial point of contact for ADA inquiries. Work in conjunction with the ADA Coordinator on processing ADA requests. Performs special projects as assigned.
