About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Chino Hills, CA 91709
Details:
- In-Person Tutoring in Chino Hills, CA 91709
- Schedule: 75 Hours a month, 3 sessions for 2hrs each
- Pay range is between $25 and $35
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, particularly those transitioning from special education to general education settings.
- Fluent or bilingual in Mandarin (required) to effectively communicate with both the student and family.
- Strong ability to support high school students (11th grade) in general education coursework, particularly in reading, writing, and comprehension.
- Experience providing structured homework support and reinforcing classroom instruction.
- Familiarity with supplemental curriculum (e.g., TME or similar programs) to build foundational academic skills.
- Ability to keep students focused, organized, and on task during sessions.
- Strong understanding of executive functioning challenges and strategies to support organization, planning, and task completion.
- Patient, consistent, and supportive, with the ability to build rapport and encourage independence.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-person, one-on-one tutoring support focused primarily on homework completion and accuracy.
- Reinforce classroom instruction in reading, writing, and comprehension.
- Use Mandarin as needed to support communication with the student and family.
- Help the student stay organized, focused, and on task during sessions.
- Provide additional academic support using TME curriculum or similar materials when homework is completed.
- Break down assignments into manageable steps and provide clear explanations to support understanding.
- Monitor student progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
- Encourage independence, accountability, and confidence in academic work.
- Communicate regularly with the family regarding progress and areas of need.
