Business Assistant, Account Management Full Description

Job Summary
The Business Assistant with Discovery Park District Centers and Institutes will work collaboratively with departmental faculty, staff, students, and other business units or areas. 
 
Who We Are:
The Institutes and Centers within the Discovery Park District bring together interdisciplinary researchers to advance large-scale initiatives that enable breakthrough discoveries and drive innovation in addressing critical global challenges. This role supports that mission by partnering with the Business Manager to provide financial oversight, stewardship, and operational support across Discovery Park Centers and Institutes, including CERIAS, ISF, PPRI, and AIDA3.
 
Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensure compliance with federal & university policies while providing excellent customer services to the areas being supported. 
  • Perform various business functions to support the fiscal management process for organizational units.
  • Assist with account management, procurement, travel, effort reporting, internal grant set up and monitoring and assist with recharge/iLab management. 
  • Serve as a resource for areas of responsibility. 
 
What We’re Looking For:
Required:
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Three years of account clerk, bookkeeping, business or related experience.
  • Experience with procurement.
  • Experience in funds management and providing a high level of customer service.
 
Skills Needed:
  • Adaptability in environments that require transitions and differing work styles.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, file management and records, forms and other office procedures and terminology. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism in dealing with students, individuals and business customers. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Motivated individual with ability to efficiently multi task, work under pressure, handle interruptions and meet deadlines.
