Work Schedule  | Monday-Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm. Overtime as necessary to fulfill customer requirements. Regular travel to various client sites which may be located regionally or across the state of Texas. Some interstate travel may be required as customer demand and grant obligations require. On rare occasions international travel may be required.
Salary  | Salary is commensurate based on qualifications and relevant experience.

Job Summary  | The Business Quality Improvement Specialist (Research Engineering Scientist Assoc V) will instruct and assist companies with implementations, specifically in the application of Lean and Six Sigma principles across multiple industries, including Food, Aerospace, Tech, Pharmaceuticals, Mining, Chemical, Metal Processing, Automotive, etc., ideally with solid cross-functional experience in operations, maintenance, process engineering and supply chain. Provide coaching to accelerate completion of improvement projects. Facilitate team activities including process mapping and Kaizen (Rapid Improvement) events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  | Deliver Lean Six Sigma (LSS) training including Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt, and Design for Lean Six Sigma (DFLSS). Provide customers with coaching and review projects for certification. Update database of completed projects. Identify case studies based on completed projects for future training. Develop new TMAC resources to teach LSS courses and provide feedback to enhance training experiences for customers. Generate leads specifically for the LSS Program via networking, relationship building, marketing and other means. Write blogs and assist with website reviews and updates. Perform site visits, conduct assessments, prepare proposals & contracts, and sell projects. Manage the deployment of continuous improvement programs for TMAC customers. Improve customer processes using technology solutions and/or advanced process improvement techniques & methodologies. Facilitate customer team activities including process mapping and kaizen (Rapid Improvement) events. Assist customers with quantifying expected financial impact of projects upon completion. Assist customers with participation in annual NIST survey to report project results. Develop deep knowledge of LSS product lines at TMAC, maintain professional certifications, continue learning new methodologies and applications. Update LSS training and coaching materials and methods. Perform other duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related technical discipline. Ten (10) years of experience working in continuous improvement programs, delivering multiple Green Belt and Black Belt classes and coaching sessions or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role. Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification. Experienced communicator engaging effectively with front-line staff through C-level executives. Experienced in facilitating teams in continuous improvement activities (mapping, kaizen) and delivering LSS training. Extensive mentoring and coaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications  | Master’s degree in a related field. PMP or prior consulting experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  | Knowledge of managing high impact improvement projects both operationally and organizationally. Knowledge of change management and developing the customer relationship to enable successful implementation of identified opportunities. Excellent data analysis and statistical skills Interpersonal skills.
