POSITION SPECIFICS​

The Office of Research Information Systems (ORIS) within the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research (OSVPR) seeks a Business Systems Analyst who will also be the functional lead for a portfolio of research operation systems used across OSVPR units, ensuring the stability, integrity, integration, and effective operation of institutionally supported applications.

This position will be filled at the Business Systems Analyst - Advanced Professional level.

This position performs advanced analysis, implementation, and lifecycle management of critical Research Information Systems that enable and support the University's research enterprise.  

Respnsibilities include but may not be limited to the following: 

Stakeholder Engagement and Requirements Analysis:
  • Independently consult with stakeholders across the research enterprise to elicit, analyze, and document business and system requirements.
  • Configure, implement, and enhance enterprise applications.
  • Lead testing, quality assurance, and issue resolution activities.
  • Serve as a primary liaison among functional offices, IT, vendors, and research user communities to streamline workflows, strengthen data governance, and advance institutional research priorities.
System Administration and Support:
  • Serve as the institutional business systems administrator and subject matter expert for research operations, lab management, and service management platforms.
  • Ensure system stability, integrity, security, and performance through proactive monitoring, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate closely with vendors and IT to resolve complex system, integration, and data issues.
Training, Documentation and Data Analysis:
  • Develop and deliver role-based training, demonstrations, and ongoing user support.
  • Create, maintain, and govern system documentation, standards, and support materials.
  • Analyze system and operational data to support reporting, leadership decision-making, regulatory compliance, and process improvement initiatives.
System Implementation and Optimization:
  • Lead implementation, enhancement, and ongoing optimization of research operations and lab management systems.
  • Partner with core directors, PIs, and administrative staff to gather requirements, define system standards, and improve business processes.
  • Analyze, design, and maintain complex system workflows that align with institutional policies, compliance requirements, and operational needs.

Work Arrangement: This position is eligible to work remotely within eligible states in the US. Standard work times will be in EST.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $61,800.00 - $89,600.00.
