The opportunity

The Campus Career Advisor provides career development services including career advising, employer engagement, and career program management. This role creates programs and initiatives designed to support students’ career readiness and facilitate positive career outcomes and provides leadership in the cultivation of employer relationships to increase internship and employment opportunities, support career programming, and promote on-campus recruiting program. Additionally, the Campus Advisor coaches students on professional skills and strategies designed to promote career agency and enable students compete and succeed in dynamic employment markets. This is an in-place position reporting to our Director of Career Services. #LI-Onsite.

What you'll do:

  • Help us provide career coaching and advising to meet individual student needs including, but not limited to career assessments, internship planning process, resume/cover letter development, job search, networking, interviewing, salary negotiation, graduate school search and other topics.
  • You will develop strong relationships with employers in strategic industries/locations, pipeline employer partners into internship/job fairs, career programs, and on-campus interviews.
  • Help us coordinate with faculty and staff to promote internship and full-time employment opportunities and identify appropriate student candidates for open positions.
  • Liaise to faculty to support students’ professional development by facilitating specialized programming and bringing employers into the classroom for projects, capstone experiences, and as guest speakers.
  • You will engage with faculty to understand curriculum and provide feedback on in-demand skills and competencies to ensure relevancy to current job market and meet employer demand.
  • Collaborate with the alumni engagement team to connect alumni to career-related initiatives/programs and networking opportunities with students.
  • Help us provide embedded support services/career advising within designated offices/departments on campus, to support students’ career planning/professional development; assess the needs of specific student populations to develop and implement targeted services and programs.
  • Support campus clubs and organizations to provide high impact career programming and assist students to articulate their co-curricular experiences and leadership activities.
  • Serve as adjunct instructor/teach career related content/courses as business needs dictate.

What we're looking for:

  • Three to five years’ experience working with student populations as a career coach or corporate recruiting experience.
  • Master’s degree in counseling, higher education, human resources, or related field
  • Knowledge of human resources and/or recruiting and hiring process.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and advising/coaching skills required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and working with CRM system
  • Previous experience providing career coaching or corporate experience recruiting candidates
