In partnership with Canva Education, Wasserman is seeking to hire a Part-Time Instructional Designer to support the global Canva Learning Consultant (CLC) Program. This role focuses on designing high-quality, interactive, and visually engaging learning content (in Canva) for our global CLC team to utilize in their educator-facing professional development sessions and beyond.
This position will collaborate closely with the Wasserman and Canva teams to produce scalable resources that elevate the educator experience, support professional learning efforts, and inspire educators to use Canva with their students.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and understand the components, features, and capabilities of Canva Education
- Design high-quality instructional materials using Canva, including slide decks, facilitator guides, participant handouts, activity templates, microlearning assets, student engagement activities, Canva video, and other PD-aligned resources
- Refine and enhance existing content to improve clarity, engagement, accessibility, and instructional impact
- Create visually compelling layouts, graphics, and interactive elements that align with Canva’s brand guidelines and educator needs
- Develop student-facing learning experiences and materials that instructors can deliver or adapt, ensuring content is accessible and engaging
- Work closely with CLCs to understand educator needs, gather input, and iterate on professional development content
- Ensure all content supports effective educator onboarding, adoption, and retention of Canva Education
- Manage multiple content projects simultaneously while meeting established timelines
- Come with creativity and ideas on how to inspire and engage students and educators in Canva
- Communicate progress and project updates to the Wasserman management team
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in instructional design, education, professional development, or related fields
- Proficiency in Canva required; experience designing instructional or presentation content in Canva strongly preferred
- Ability to design engaging, visually compelling learning materials that meet educator learning best practices
- Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills
- Highly collaborative; able to connect with cross-functional teams and integrate feedback effectively
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Self-motivated, creative problem-solver with strong initiative
- Background in K–12 education is a plus
Interview Process
- Candidates selected for the second round of interviews will be asked to complete a short design prompt or provide a portfolio sample demonstrating instructional design and Canva proficiency
