| Job Summary | Are you passionate about empowering others to achieve meaningful career success? As a Career Advisor at the University of Texas at Dallas University Career Center, you will play a pivotal role in shaping students’ and alumni’s career trajectories through high-impact workshops, programs and personalized advising. By providing tailored guidance on resumes, cover letters, interview preparation, and career planning, you will equip individuals with the tools and confidence needed to navigate an increasingly competitive job market. In this role, your impact extends far beyond one-on-one appointments. You will collaborate with faculty, academic departments, and campus partners to design and deliver workshops, presentations, and events that build career readiness at scale to help students develop the competencies necessary for lifelong career success. Your work will directly contribute to improving career outcomes, strengthening career readiness, and enhancing the overall student experience. As the landscape of career services continues to evolve, you will be part of a forward-thinking team committed to innovation, accessibility, and growth. This role requires adaptability, a proactive mindset, and a willingness to embrace new strategies that expand the reach and effectiveness of career services. You will help drive initiatives that increase student engagement, improve service delivery, and align programming with workforce trends. Additionally, you will contribute to telling the story of the University Career Center’s impact by supporting strategies that communicate outcomes, demonstrate value, and elevate visibility across the university community. Creativity and initiative are encouraged as you explore new ways to connect with students and stakeholders. This position reports to the Associate Director of Career Development and is housed within the University Career Center, part of the Student Affairs division at UT Dallas. |
| Minimum Education and Experience | Bachelor’s degree and one to three years professional work experience. |
| Preferred Education and Experience | Preference will be given to candidates with; Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling, or a closely related discipline. Direct Career Services and career advising experience, as well as experience administering personality and career assessments, is preferred. |
| Other Qualifications | To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position. |

| Physical Demands and Working Conditions | Must be willing and able to attend professional development opportunities and events on and off campus. Must possess the willingness and ability to occasionally work an unconventional work schedule that may include some evenings and weekends. Must be able to negotiate stairs and capable of lifting and pulling 10 – 15 pounds. |

Remote Work Notice: After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for one remote day a week work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
