This role provides tailored career development services and coaching to undergraduate and graduate engineering students, helps them explore career options, develop professional skills, and transition successfully from college to career. The counselor also designs and delivers workshops, collaborates with the Career Development and Corporate Relations team, and supports career-related events and program initiatives.

Highlights

  • Provide one-on-one career coaching focused on career exploration, resume and cover letter development, interview preparation, and job search strategies for engineering students.
  • Facilitate group coaching sessions and career development workshops, including weekly engineering resume sessions.
  • Support and participate in career fairs and other student-centered career events throughout the academic year.
  • Collaborate with the Career Development and Corporate Relations (CDCR) team to develop new career programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain and update career resources and utilize career development tools such as Handshake, LinkedIn, Big Interview, Salesforce, and CareerShift.
  • Requires a Master's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field; experience requirements vary by level (0-4 years).
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with career assessment tools (MBTI, Strong Interest Inventory, Clifton Strengths) and familiarity with career management systems and data interpretation.
  • Salary range: $40,170 - $76,490.
  • Serves undergraduate and graduate engineering students within the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering.
