Job Summary/Basic Function | Career Services is looking for positive, team-oriented individuals with great customer service and interpersonal skills. Candidates must have an enthusiastic personality, strong work ethic and be quick learners. Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with team members. Up to 20 hours per week including a weekly mandatory training meeting (1hr). Flexible hours. $13.00/hr.
Job roles and duties include the following:
Front Office
Display professionalism and strong customer service when assisting individuals in person, over the phone, and through email.
Approve student appointments and jobs on Handshake along with working on the daily front office check list. Maintain a clean and professional environment.
Career Mentoring (Career Station)
Mentor students on resumes, cover letters, and interviewing (training provided).
Assist students with building profiles on Handshake and LinkedIn and taking professional headshots (training provided).
Counselor/Coordinator Projects
Collaborate with Career Counselors/Employment Advisors with marketing events and services to their assigned college. (If assigned to work with the Student Employment Coordinator, assist with the 50/50 program.)
Outreach to employers and help with career fairs and other events.
Help with other related projects as assigned (e.g. – gather and enter employment data, build college-specific resources, etc.).
Required Qualifications | Excellent teamwork, customer service, adaptability, and computer skills are required.
This position is 50/50 eligible, student must be enrolled full-time and maintain a 2.0 GPA in order to qualify.
Preferred Qualifications | GPA > 3.0 strongly preferred.
Federal Work Study eligibility is preferred but not required. (If you are unsure if you are eligible for the Federal Work Study Program, contact the Financial Aid office at 801-626-7569).
