Job Description 
Reynolds Community College and the Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA) are seeking a dynamic, student-centered Career Readiness Specialist to help students build confidence, belonging, and career momentum. Based at the Parham Road Career Connect Center, this role plays a vital part in preparing both academic (credit) and workforce (non-credit) students for meaningful employment and long-term career success.

The Career Readiness Specialist supports student success by coordinating and delivering comprehensive career readiness programming. This position collaborates closely with faculty, first-year initiatives staff, and the Career Services Coaching Team to ensure that every student has access to high-quality career development support throughout their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver career readiness workshops (resume writing, interview preparation, soft skills) in both in-person and virtual formats. Coordinate the scheduling and delivery of workshops in collaboration with the Career Services Coaching Team. Partner with faculty and first-year initiatives staff to integrate career readiness into students’ academic experiences. Manage daily operations of the First Impression Boutique, including student appointments, inventory, and promotion. Document student engagement and outcomes using the case management system and support reporting efforts. Connect students to Career Connect resources, including career exploration tools, experiential learning, wrap-around supports, and employment opportunities. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing workforce trend research. If schedule allows, manage a small caseload of students/job seekers.
Special Assignments  | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications  | Knowledge & Skills Considerable knowledge of career readiness curriculum and skills development. Strong understanding of workshop facilitation and training delivery methods. Working knowledge of higher education, workforce development, and social service systems. Demonstrated ability to provide professional coaching and guide students through the employment process. Strong communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools. Ability to develop and deliver presentations using PowerPoint or similar platforms. Familiarity with labor market data and regional employment trends. Collaborative mindset with a strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork.
Additional Considerations  | Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, counseling, workforce development, or a related field. Experience working in a community college environment or with community career assistance programs. Experience coordinating services with multiple agencies and community partners.
