POSITION SPECIFICS
The
Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education (AESE) Department in the
College of Agricultural Sciences seeks a
Career Services Specialist in career and internship development. This position develops and administers initiatives to promote internship and employment opportunities for AESE undergraduate and graduate students. The specialist will develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and alumni to secure new internship and job opportunities and advise AESE undergraduate and graduate students on internship and employment opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and administer initiatives to promote internship and employment opportunities for AESE undergraduate and graduate students, including opportunities in private industry, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies.
- Collaborate in these initiatives with other career-related units at the College and University levels.
- Develop and maintain a database of AESE student internships, post-graduation employment, and career progression.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners, industry associations, and AESE alumni in industry to secure new internships and job opportunities for AESE undergraduate and graduate students.
- Engage industry partners at trade shows, conferences, workshops, and other events.
- Collaborate with other industry engagement efforts at the Department, College, and University levels.
- Advise students in AESE undergraduate and graduate programs on internship and employment opportunities.
- Collaborate with faculty and professional academic advisers in AESE to ensure quality and consistency in student advising on internship and employment opportunities.
- Maintain and ensure confidentiality of student records.
- Other academic advising duties as assigned.
Driver's license required - some travel required.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $42,100.00 - $67,300.00.
