Job Summary
The Employer Engagement Career Specialist supports the planning, coordination, and execution of employer engagement and recruitment initiatives within the career and talent development office. The specialist plays a key role in advancing employer partnerships by supporting relationship management, coordinating engagement activities, and ensuring high quality delivery of recruiting programs. Working closely with senior staff, the specialist ensures the smooth delivery of programs and services that enhance employer and student engagement.
  • Coordinate operational aspects of the Professional Attire Program, including event support, donations coordination, and collaboration with fundraising partners.
  • Serves as the primary contact for college/school liaisons to collaborate on employer recruitment strategies, support proactive employer engagement and outreach activities.
  • Maintain employer relationship management systems (e.g., Handshake, CRM platforms), ensuring data accuracy and timely communication. Assist with troubleshooting access issues for students and employers.
  • Expand high quality internship and employment opportunities for FIU students by supporting strong, consistent employer engagement.
  • Provides individualized and group consultation to companies interested in recruiting at FIU through presentations, site visits and marketing.
  • Enhance employer experience and retention by providing day-to-day support for employer engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with on-campus recruiting activities such as information sessions, interviews, tabling, and networking events. Coordinate event logistics including room reservations, catering, materials preparation, registration, and day-of event support.
  • Provide administrative and operational support for special projects and departmental initiatives as needed.
  • Ensure employer engagement and recruiting activities align with applicable university policies and local, state, and federal regulations related to recruitment and employment practice.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree and two (2) years of related experience; OR Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of related experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in customer service, higher education, recruiting or employer relations support.
  • Experience with event planning and/or CRM systems (e.g., Handshake) preferred.
