Posting Context Statement | The law libraries in Moscow and Boise support the education and research needs of the College of Law faculty and students as well as members of the public with a collection of information resources
Position Overview | The primary purpose of the Law Library Circulation Supervisor is to plan and coordinate circulation operations for the College of Law Library under the direction of the Head of Public Services. This position may supervise one or more staff members, as assigned.
This position is essential in meeting the academic law library standards as set out in the American Bar Association (ABA) Standards 601, 602, 603(a), and Interpretation 603(1) as they pertain to the quality of services provided to the College of Law.

Position Qualifications
Required Experience | Experience working in a Library environment One year working with patrons in a library setting, including resolving patron complaints, OR one year of customer service experience Experience using and troubleshooting Integrated Library System (ILS) applications and/or resource sharing applications One year of supervisory experience, including assessing the performance of employees, identifying training needs, and resolving conflicts
Required Education | High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Other | Ability to work non-standard business hours, which may include evenings, weekends or holidays to meet the business needs of the unit.
Additional Preferred | Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Two years of current (within 5 years) experience working in a library Experience providing library services in an academic or university environment Two years managing/supervising a library circulation/academic services department Experience establishing and maintaining working relationships with students, faculty, and staff Experience with hiring and supervising students Experience preparing and maintaining statistical reports and records Experience in planning, evaluating, setting priorities, and scheduling unit activities Experience interpreting and applying rules and regulations Experience assessing, modifying, and developing work procedures Effective interpersonal and oral/written communication skills Coursework in library sciences
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions | Must be able to lift, carry and/or otherwise move up to 50 pounds occasionally
