Job Summary
The College Business Analyst:
  • Serves as a department business officer and act as the initial contact for budget planning, forecasting and analysis
  • Collaborates with Chair/Director to plan/forecast and assure adjustments are made to the budget in order to facilitate long-term planning.
  • Participates in annual budget preparation process at the direction of the college’s Business Officer
  • Provides timely and accurate reports to Chairs/Directors/College monthly and upon request
  • Analyzes spending trends that affect budget needs and provide the results to key decisions makers
  • Leads, participates, and/or provides input on special projects within the department
  • Responsible for management of all business, financial, and HR related activities
  • Approves all charges on accounts for the department
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of all business procedures and continually improves the skills necessary to interpret regulations
  • Prepares and/or reviews JV’s, PRD’s, travel vouchers, etc. for all units
  • Ensures all accounts belonging to the department are reconciled on a monthly basis
  • Manages personnel, human resources and payroll related issues and ensure compliance with the university policies and procedures
  • Submits department staff job postings and assist in hiring processes for department
  • Oversees or performs all HR/Payroll functions to include review/audits, faculty distribution of effort (DOE), cost distribution entries (CDEM), effort certification (ECC), etc. Supervise department business staff

The College Business Analyst will contribute to continuous improvement activities for all processes and services by seeking innovative and more efficient ways for conducting our business, as well as modeling and promoting excellent customer service to all internal and external constituents.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
MS Office, SAP, Tableau, CDEM, ECC, EPS, excellent communication skills, customer service, ability to multi-task, highly organized and able to prioritize, and self starter.

Preferred Education/Experience
BS + 1 year UK travel, purchasing, student and faculty support experience. Driver’s license preferred.
