Community Placement Liaison, Academic Advisor for Marriage and Family Therapy Program Full Description

Overview:

Touro University Worldwide (TUW) is seeking a motivated, bright and personable individual to join our Marriage and Family Therapy team at our Los Alamitos location. The Community Placement Liaison, under the direction of the MFT Program Director, the MFT Assistant Program Director, and the Practicum Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the placement process of MFT students in compliance and alignment with COAMFTE accreditation standards and the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) educational requirements.

This advisor will have experience working in community mental health settings, familiarity of COAMFTE standards or significant desire to learn, experience in mental health licensing boards, and have excellent interpersonal skills. The advisor will be dedicated to providing high quality service to all constituencies of TUW. She/he will exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical principles and will be committed to the tenets of TUW.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Assistant Program Director and Practicum Coordinator in monitoring, collaborating and collecting feedback from clinical placement ancillary (site) supervisors to enhance the Foundational Practice Component of the MFT Program

· Assist TUW MFT students with clinical training placement

· Assist with approving and maintaining community placement sites

· Review student, site and practicum instructor documentation to ensure compliance with program mandates

· Assist with COAMFTE accreditation requirements and CA BBS relevant to field experience and supervision

· Familiar with AAMFT requirements for membership and approved supervisor status and/or express a willingness to learn about accreditation policies, best practices, and procedures

· Familiar with and or express willingness to learn about the CA BBS requirements for licensure

· Learn about state and national professional organizations

· Adhere and apply to TUW Training standards, policies, and procedures

· Assist clinical placement sites with the MFT Program’s standards and requirements

· Other duties as needed

Qualifications:

· A minimum of a Master’s degree preferred from an accredited university or college in Marriage and Family Therapy (Licensed MFT, Counseling, or Social Work a plus)

· At least three years of related experience

· Results Oriented and Student-Centric

· Strong Interpersonal Skills (Communication, Listening, etc.)

· Team Player

· Ability to collaborate with other departments and team members

This is a full-time position with benefits, paid time off, and extensive holiday schedule.

Maximum Salary: USD $55,000.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary: USD $50,000.00/Yr.
