This position will require you to be in Cleveland, OH 
We are in a hybrid schedule, 2 days on campus and 3 days WFH
   
The Content Metadata Specialist's responsibilities include engaging with digital media suppliers and coordinating the delivery and upload of supplier metadata and content files (eBook and audiobook) to an OverDrive database. The main day-to-day responsibility of the Specialist is to assess and prepare assets received from suppliers for import into OverDrive systems. The Specialist also handles operational communication with publishers, coordinates the timely and recurring upload of content to the OverDrive systems, periodically evaluates and analyzes accounts and content, creates and maintains publisher documentation, and works cooperatively with the team and department to support the needs of the company.
 
Responsibilities:     
  • Aggregate, normalize, and assure quality of supplier metadata to comply with OverDrive cataloging standards.
  • Use existing systems to import publisher content into the OverDrive Catalog, ensuring that deadlines are met.
  • Keep timely and consistent communication with suppliers that answers questions related to ingestion, file formats, and metadata.
  • Review, troubleshoot, and resolve partner- and end-user-reported catalog questions and issues.
  • Interact with suppliers via email alias as well as individual email addresses to establish relationships and become the primary liaison/contact with certain publishers.
  • Perform regular evaluations of supplier accounts and identify issues related to file delivery, previous publisher engagement, content quality, and missing files, and seek to resolve issues through internal processes and publisher communication.
  • Complete small or short-term projects related to content audits, ingestion improvements, lending model changes, sales history, or special campaigns, and provide internal documentation and summaries of work.
  • Work with Content Partnerships to implement and support lending model additions and changes, sales campaigns, manage relationships with partners, and streamline workflows and processes for existing suppliers.
  • Perform metadata and catalog quality work and improvements that support catalog opportunities for the larger content department and act as a contributor to industry and OverDrive standards.

Requirements:     
  • Bachelor Degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 0 - 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, proofreading and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Understanding of web-browsing and Internet use.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; emphasis on Excel skills.
