About the Position
To sustain the organization’s scaling efforts, the Powerful Learning Team is building a talent pipeline as we strive to engage 30 million learners in powerful learning experiences. We are recruiting mid-level to senior-level specialized experts to fill part-time and/or term-limited positions. This opportunity is ideal for independent contractors who wish to gain experience and exposure within Digital Promise. Candidates must be available during standard business hours. 

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Contract Learning Design + Facilitator (Hybrid):
We welcome candidates with expertise in both learning design and facilitation who can develop research-based content and deliver it effectively. This unique role serves either our external partnerships across the country or our internal professional learning initiatives. Hybrid specialists should meet the qualifications outlined in both the Learning Design and Facilitation profiles above. Travel may be necessary depending on the project, and all associated travel expenses will be paid. Ideal candidates will have:

External Partnership Focus (K-12)

  • Deep K-12 Expertise: A strong background working directly with K-12 school districts, with a proven track record of creating and delivering effective learning experiences for diverse audiences—ranging from classroom teachers to executive-level public education leaders.
  • End-to-End Design & Delivery: Expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, and e-learning development, coupled with the flexibility and presence to facilitate powerfully in both virtual and in-person formats.
  • Collaborative & Research-Based Approach: A strong grounding in evidence-based methodologies, with an openness to working closely with cross-functional teams, receiving feedback on delivery, and continuously refining practices to represent Digital Promise with excellence.

Internal Professional Learning Focus

  • Team Dynamics & Conflict Resolution: Specialized experience designing and facilitating adult learning sequences centered on psychological safety, team health, and interpersonal repair. Candidates should be fluent in foundational frameworks (e.g., Psychological Safety, SCARF, DiSC) and capable of teaching practical feedback models (e.g., Radical Candor, SBI) to establish shared communication commitments, such as a "48s" rule for initiating repair.
  • Coaching & Content-Specific Learning: Ability to design and deliver professional learning and targeted coaching tailored to internal operational areas, such as product development, project management (PM), and other core business functions, adapting flexibly to evolving organizational needs.

Candidates should be prepared to showcase past design projects, demonstrate their facilitation skills, and speak to the impact and outcomes achieved in past experiences. Proficiency in relevant design tools and strong presentation skills are essential.

Working Conditions

Digital Promise Global is a hybrid organization. The position is primarily working in a remote environment. Employees are expected to travel at least 4 times a year for in-person meetings and the annual staff retreat. Additional travel may be required based on role and responsibilities.

Fast-paced working environment. Extensive computer usage and online engagement & communication. Must be willing to build inclusive relationships and collaborate with employees at all levels within the organization and external partners.

These are project-based contractor positions. We are building a bench of talented professionals who can be deployed as projects arise. Completing our selection process qualifies you for our contractor network, with assignments made based on project requirements and contractor availability. Please note that passing the interview stage does not guarantee immediate or ongoing work.

Compensation
In order to ensure that contractors are paid fairly, the Powerful Learning Team leverages standard rates to pay contractors based on the seniority level required for the role. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience and project scope. Specific rates will be discussed during the interview process.

Hourly Rate: $75-$100, depending on experience and project
