Position Summary:
ETS provides products and services that impact the lives of students and learners worldwide. As a Full Stack Developer (Senior) Contractor at ETS you will have the opportunity to join a dynamic team working in a fast-paced environment.  We build solutions leveraging Artificial Intelligence to solve the most pressing needs of learners around the world. 

We are looking for a Contract Software Developer/Full Stack Developer who can use cutting edge technologies to solve complex problems, and who are driven to deliver value in alignment with the ETS mission to advance quality and equity in education.  You work directly with the product owner, and take responsibility for the architecture, design, and code quality for all your deliverables.  You are dynamic and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning.  You are equally as comfortable working independently as you are collaborating with a team.  

Experience and Skills
This a 6-month assignment – and the technical skills that are non-negotiable are:

 1. Core Java & Frameworks- Strong to proficient
  • Strong proficiency in Java 8
  • Spring Framework & Spring Boot
  • RESTful Web Services design and development
  • JUnit and unit-testing best practices
  • JPA/Hibernate for ORM and data persistence

2. System & Scripting- Strong to proficient
  • Linux command line and shell scripting
  • AWS CLI usage for automation and environment management
  • AWS SDK for integrating Java applications with

3. Databases- Strong
  • Oracle
  • PostgreSQL
  • Ability to write complex SQL queries and optimize performance

4. DevOps & Build/Deployment Tools- intermediate level
  • Git for version control
  • GitLab & GitLab CI for CI/CD pipelines
  • AWS CloudFormation or AWS CDK for infrastructure as code

5. AWS Cloud Services- intermediate level
