Work Schedule Summary  | A flexible schedule is important. Classes take place on weekday evenings and on Saturdays. This position is expected to build relationships with instructors, students, and other members of the community, especially while classes are in session. The anticipated schedule, which includes a 1-hour lunch break, is Monday through Thursday, 10:00 am-7:00 pm, Fridays 8:00 am-5:00 pm, and at least one Saturday a month.

Job Summary 
Lifelong Learning connects the University of Utah to adult learners (18+) across the state through in-person and online classes that promote personal exploration, growth, and community engagement. We program approximately 500 adult enrichment classes a year, spanning visual and performing arts, current events, recreation, wellness and relationships, literature, and so much more. We celebrate our community and foster campus connections and belonging for anyone who wants to learn. The Lifelong Learning Program Coordinator supports the planning, execution, and evaluation of personal enrichment classes offered through the Lifelong Learning program. This role ensures smooth classroom operations, provides exceptional customer service to instructors and students, and contributes to the development of new programming.

We anticipate hosting first-round interviews on November 10-14 in person. We anticipate a start date of December 1. The hiring committee is led by Christine Baczek, Senior Director of Personal Enrichment Programs.

Responsibilities 
Class Coordination: Facilitate setup and support for classes, including materials preparation and instructor assistance.  Monitor and run classes, enroll/drop students, and manage class logistics.  Be present for evening and Saturday sessions as scheduled.
Instructor & Student Support: Communicate promptly and thoroughly with instructors regarding syllabi, handouts, and class needs.  Respond to student inquiries and provide guidance throughout the course lifecycle.
Administrative Duties:  Coordinate data entry of the course catalog in collaboration with the team.  Maintain accurate records in spreadsheets and databases in coordination with the team.  Answer phone calls and monitor the Lifelong Learning email inbox in coordination with the team.
Program Development:  Assist in catalog creation and maintenance.  Collaborate with team members to identify and implement improvements.
Marketing Coordination: Coordinate different routine projects like social media posts and photo shoots in collaboration with the Director.
Team Collaboration: Participate in weekly meetings and contribute agenda items related to program enhancements. Cross train with other coordinators to ensure coverage during absences.  Work well with colleagues and support a positive team culture..

Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), plus one year of directly related experience

Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
