Job Summary | Coordinates clinical experiences for the undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the School of Nursing (SON). Assists SON leadership in the preparation of the SON course schedule, securing of clinical placements, and management of issues related to student policies, records, performance, and admissions. Participates in data collection and analysis for required reports to both internal and external constituencies. Seeks agreement from hospital and other clinical agency administration for use of their appropriately credentialed nursing employees to serve as clinical faculty for the SON and oversees the implementation of these arrangements as part of the SON’s strategic initiative project related to meeting the challenges of clinical education in nursing. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with experience in nursing or health care related field. Three (3) years of experience in nursing education and/or nursing administration. Eligible for an active, unrestricted Ohio nursing license. Valid driver’s license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the CSU’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications | Experience with nursing curriculum development and teaching in a baccalaureate nursing program. Five (5) years of experience in nursing clinical practice or management. Supervisory experience. Prior experience with clinical placements or as a clinical placement coordinator Familiarity with ACEMAP or Exact.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) | Knowledge of professional, state, federal and local regulatory and accreditation standards for nursing programs. Proficient in written and verbal communication skills, the ability to make effective presentations, have strong public speaking skills, develop, and drive change and effectively communicate change. Ability to exhibit professionalism and sensitivity in all communication. Excellent interpersonal skills, “Customer Focus” attitude, and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Detailed oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, analyze, and organize information, have effective project and time management skills, and be well organized. Ability to learn and utilize systems, such as Blackboard CMS, ACEMAPP, EXAAT, FileMaker Pro and PeopleSoft and ability to use computer-based scheduling systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
