Job Description:
W. P. Carey School of Business Undergraduate Programs Office is seeking an energetic, service-oriented, and self-motivated person to work on its Enrollment and Engagement team as a Coordinator of Engagement. The Engagement team works to implement programming aimed at retention, leadership development, and engagement of W. P. Carey students. 

Under direct supervision of the Director of Enrollment and Engagement, this position will coordinate engagement efforts for our Leaders Academy as well as sophomore through senior engagement. The Leaders Academy is comprised of academically motivated and talented undergraduate business students. Leaders Academy students have access to many exclusive academic, professional, and social opportunities that will help build a network for success during and after college.

The coordinator will work with a variety of staff members - both at W. P. Carey and across campus and must be successful managing multiple details, taking initiatives, and demonstrating integrity.

Days and Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Multiple evenings and weekends will be required to support Leaders Academy events. While based on the Tempe campus, this individual must be willing and able to travel to multiple campus locations in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Position Salary: $48,600
Essential Duties:
  • Coordinate all aspects of Leaders Academy including lounge space, student staff, programming and events
  • Recruit and advise a team of student leaders (Academy Peer Programmers for Leadership Engagement) to support initiatives and events for all Leaders Academy students
  • Manage a student lounge space and directly supervise the team of student workers
  • Manage a program budget
  • Assist with event coordination for Fall Welcome, Family Weekend, Dean's List celebrations, Involvement Week, summer camps, and Convocation
  • Serve as point of contact for current business students and acts as a liaison with faculty and staff in facilitating college/department engagement and leadership efforts
  • Facilitate a section of WPC 101 either during the fall or spring semester
  • Facilitate a section of WPC 194 during the spring semester
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with department and university partners, faculty members, and community partners
  • Develop, plan, and facilitate workshops, meetings, engagement events, and presentations with high impact on the program
  • Represent the college/department and serves on various department and university committees
  • Respond to student questions and concerns in a timely manner
  • Initiate and prepare administrative reports and documents
  • Recommend and monitor compliance with department policies and procedures
  • Develop work plans in accordance with established unit and department objectives and funding limitations
  • Perform duties for the Manager of Engagement in his/her absence and other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working with students in higher education/college-level student engagement
  • Experience advising or supervising student employees or clubs and organizations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of student development theory and practices
  • Experience in project coordinator or project management
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of supporting various types of students from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience in coordinating events, program management and using assessments to measure the effectiveness of programs and services
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Google suite applications, CRMs, etc. 
  • Experience presenting to groups and individuals
  • Experience in building working relationships in a team setting and with internal/external constituents
  • Experience in effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated use of effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in using interpersonal skills with a positive perspective when communicating
Working Environment:
  • Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking. 
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of computer, keyboard, and computer mouse.
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and pushing objects of varying weights up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
  • May include exposure to external environment/climate conditions including walking on uneven surfaces, climbing and high temperatures.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities that may include and/or are subject to the resolution of conflicts.
  • This position requires significant evening and weekend work.
