Job Description:

The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University seeks a student-focused, energetic, and detail-oriented professional to join our Office of Academic and Student Affairs as a Coordinator of Engineering Outreach and Student Recruitment.

This role plays a vital part in building meaningful connections with prospective students and their families through personalized outreach, recruitment initiatives, and community engagement. The Coordinator serves as a front-line representative of the Fulton Schools, helping students explore engineering pathways and supporting enrollment efforts across all undergraduate engineering programs.

Under the supervision of the Senior Coordinator of Outreach and Student Recruitment, the Coordinator collaborates closely with the Outreach & Recruitment team to support strategic initiatives designed to increase enrollment within the Fulton Schools of Engineering.

Position Salary Range:

$48,000 - $52,000 per year; DOE.

Essential Duties:

  • Delivers on-campus recruitment presentations to prospective students and their families for the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering weekly.

  • Identifies, develops, and maintains working relationships with the university and community agencies for support as appropriate to work assignment.

  • Advise an FSE student-led organization, Fulton Ambassadors; close to 80 current engineering students who help out with outreach and recruitment.

  • Develops, modifies, and updates content for websites, newsletters, recruitment & yield communications, as needed to support unit objectives and initiatives.

  • Supports the development and facilitation of undergraduate recruitment webinars, workshops, meetings, or conferences with high impact on program and/participants; monitors logistics, scheduling and participant communications as assigned.

  • Coordinates Outreach & Recruitment events on the ASU Tempe and Polytechnic campuses including recruiting participants, managing registrations, communication to participants and volunteers, event scheduling, reserving appropriate space, and overseeing purchasing and prepping of materials.

  • Maintains contact with key personnel of outside organizations and university departments essential to the delivery and execution of functions and programs.

  • Provides exceptional customer service to prospective and current students, faculty, staff, and outside organizations.

  • Assists the Coordinator Senior of Outreach and Recruitment in managing all aspects of the Fulton Summer Academy (summer camps for ages 9th-12th grade.) This includes making reservations, managing counselors, communicating with parents, keeping accurate records, and ensuring a safe environment.

  • When needed, the Coordinator may be asked to travel domestically or internationally and performs some or all of the previously listed tasks during those trips.

  • Evidence of effective communication, including grammar and spelling.

  • Experience effectively delivering presentations and ideas to large and small groups.

  • Experience executing and managing events.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering or STEM fields.

  • Experience handling multiple projects and conflicting priorities.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, Workday, Stova, and Salesforce.

  • Evidence of strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.

  • Customer service experience.

  • Evidence of competency and sensitivity to students of diverse backgrounds.

  • Experience in applying recruiting/selling techniques and methods.

  • Evidence of being results-oriented with the ability to perform multiple tasks.

Working Environment:

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work

  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds

  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts

  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions

Days and Schedule:

Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with extended hours including evenings and weekends as needed. This position is based on the ASU Tempe campus and will require the Coordinator to travel to the ASU Polytechnic campus at least once a week for student recruitment purposes.

Note: After 90 days, this role has the opportunity of hybrid work with a blended schedule of on-campus and 1-2 remote working days.
