Job Summary  | The Coordinator of Military and Veteran Services is responsible for supporting military-connected students by coordinating and delivering programs and services that promote student success. Reporting to the Program Director of Military and Veteran Services, this role emphasizes student advising, resource alignment, and collaboration with campus and community partners to ensure effective support and engagement. The annual salary for this position ranges from $48,000 to $52,000. The final offer will be based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  | Lead in planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of events and activities conducive to student development and success, as well as Oversee development, and operation of special projects and programs. (To include but not limited to mentorship program and advising of student organizations). Advise and support military-connected students, including making referrals to campus and community resources to support student success. Promote and market UTA Military and Veteran Services programs, events, and services to greater campus and off-campus communities. (Department website, social media, print, phone, and in-person marketing). Assist in office staff coverage, facility management, department budget, administrative responsibilities, and overall office operations. (To include but not limited to work order requests, ProCard reconciliation, timesheet entry, travel request/authorization, and monthly financial statement reconciliation). Assist Program Director in writing departmental reports, program assessment, and data analysis. Perform other duties as assigned. (To include but not limited to serving on committees and special interest groups).
Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree. Two (2) years of experience in program coordination/management, academic advising, office administration, recruiting, marketing, event planning/ management, and or career development with college students or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a similar role. Demonstrated experience with veterans’ education benefits, veteran resources, and the educational needs of non-traditional student populations.
Preferred Qualifications  | One (1) year of experience working with the U.S. military, veteran affairs, or military assistance programs, along with relevant experience advising military-connected students and understanding their academic, economic, social, and cultural needs in Higher Education. Experience with program coordination and student engagement.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  | Knowledge of academic, economic, social, and cultural needs of military-connected students. Knowledge in advising students in a postsecondary education program. Knowledge of the university and institutional administrative processes. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency with computers, other office equipment, and Microsoft Office.

Workplace and Eligibility Conditions  | Working in office environment. Employees may be required to participate in event setup, cleanup, and moving of materials/ supplies to various locations around campus and DFW.
