The basics of this position:
This role is a hybrid position, splitting time evenly between coordination of STLCC’s dual credit/dual enrollment STEM Academy and supporting the recruitment, enrollment, and success of Ritenour High School students who are enrolled – or intend to enroll – at STLCC. During their hours at STLCC, this position works with North County school districts to recruit, enroll, and support students as part of STEM Academy. This program provides students considering a science, technology, engineering or mathematics pathway an opportunity to earn their associate degree while in high school or to complete college credits through dual credit and/or dual enrollment. The STEM Academy Coordinator collaborates with multiple departments and units within the College to provide student-focused support; assists with developing, implementing, and managing all elements of the STEM Academy; partners with corporate sponsor to provide STEM-focused events and career exploration opportunities; assists in the delivery of College-wide initiatives directed to STEM Academy and other dual credit/enrollment students, including information sessions and new student workshops/orientation; and gathers data, inputs data, and provides reports for STEM Academy and other dual credit/enrollment initiatives. This is a temporary, grant-funded position with funding secured for four years.

What you'll do:
  • STEM Academy Duties:
    • Collaborates with school district and College personnel to promote, support, and lead the STEM Academy, ensuring ongoing support of STEM Academy students from application to high school graduation. 
    • Coordinates recruitment, application, onboarding, registration, and textbook acquisition for STEM Academy; troubleshoots admission and registration issues. 
    • Assists school districts with the application, placement testing, and registration processes of STEM Academy students.
    • Coordinates monthly STEM-focused events and career exploration opportunities.
    • Manages partnership with corporate sponsor to ensure college and career connectivity.
    • Collaborates with Academic Success & Tutoring to provide tutoring and academic support to STEM Academy students.
    • Monitors STEM Academy students’ academic progress and connects students to the faculty liaison and academic support resources where appropriate. 
    • Gathers performance data and provides reporting on metrics for the sake of improving effectiveness of STEM Academy and other dual credit/enrollment programs.
    • Facilitates information and orientation sessions for students, parents, and school district partners.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

    Ritenour High School Duties:
    • Coordinating FAFSA events with STLCC Enrollment Services staff for Ritenour High School students and parents/guardians. 
    • Supporting students who plan to attend STLCC after RHS graduation, including meeting with students and parents, hosting information sessions, coordinating with Enrollment Services and Advising offices to ensure enrollment and registration processes are completed, etc. 
    • Monitoring the progress and success of dual credit and dual enrollment students in DCEP coursework and high school coursework to ensure student success and coordinating with in the dual credit/dual enrollment program, but also RHS Coursework to ensure success and coordination with academic services/tutoring services when needed.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education, experience, and other requirements: 
• Bachelor’s degree
• A minimum of two years of relevant full-time experience or three years’ part-time experience in a post-secondary or secondary setting.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• This position will be housed at St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley for 50% of the time and Ritenour High School 50% of the time. 
For instance, employee will spend two days per week at STLCC and three days per week at RHS Week 1 and would spend three days per week at STLCC and two days per week at RHS on Week 2. 

This schedule would continue on a rotating basis, with adjustments to this schedule requiring approval from both Ritenour and STLCC leadership. 

Schedule at RHS will be 7:30-3:30. 
• Standard office working environment. 
• Position requires the ability to deliver outreach activities. Must have reliable transportation for local travel up to 50 miles. 
• Occasional evenings and weekend hours required to support events. 
• This position is a grant-funded position; funding is available through at least June 30, 2029.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Normal office environment. 
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
