Job Description | The Rural Outreach Coordinator plays a vital role in connecting rural communities with medical school resources through strategic outreach and engagement. This position involves cultivating community partnerships, organizing impactful events, and managing grant-related activities—including financial tracking and reporting—to ensure compliance and demonstrate program effectiveness.
Job duties for this role include: Develop and sustain relationships with community leaders, local organizations, and service providers to foster collaboration. Conduct needs assessments and gather community input to guide program development. Monitor and document outreach activities, preparing detailed reports on engagement metrics and program outcomes. Oversee grant reporting requirements, including financial documentation, budget tracking, and timely submission of progress reports to funding agencies. Collaborate with internal departments to align outreach efforts with grant objectives and budgetary guidelines. Advocate for rural community needs within the institution and among external stakeholders. Travel periodically to rural areas to maintain visibility and strengthen community ties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Familiarity with grant budgeting, financial reconciliation, and funder compliance requirements. Knowledge of local and regional resources available to rural populations. Experience working with finance teams or managing program budgets. Occasional travel to rural communities. Evening and weekend availability for community events. Office-based with regular fieldwork in rural settings.
Salary Range | $52,105-$67,736. Commensurate with Education and Experience.
