The Course Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-quality on-demand (e-learning) and Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) courses, training materials, work instructions, and curriculum that align with organizational goals and learner needs. The Course Developer works closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), cross-functional business partners, and stakeholders to translate complex information into engaging, interactive, and effective learning experiences with measurable outcomes. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Curriculum Design: Identify learning objectives, structure course content, and develop comprehensive, effective curricula for online, instructor-led and blended training.
  • Content Development: Create engaging educational content, including e-learning modules, scripts, storyboards, quizzes, simulations, and job aids using authoring tools.
  • SME Collaboration: Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather, validate, and refine content, ensuring accuracy and relevance. Translate operational requirements into training.
  • Multimedia Integration: Utilize multimedia tools to enhance learning, incorporating video, audio, and interactive elements.
  • Quality Assurance: Test and evaluate course effectiveness, reviewing materials for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to instructional design principles. Upload, test and ensure proper function of course content within Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Project Management: Manage development timelines to deliver projects on time, within scope, and aligned with company goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor and analyze learner feedback and performance data to update and enhance existing courses.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience:2–5+ years of experience in instructional design, courseware development, or training content creation.
  • Authoring Tools:Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Rise, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud – Acrobat, Illustrator, Photo Shop, Premier Pro, After Effects, Character Animator.
  • Learning Principles:Solid understanding of adult learning theories, instructional design models (i.e. ADDIE, SAM), and technical writing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Instructional Design and Learning Expertise: Adult learning principles, needs analysis, writing measurable learning objectives, course and assessment design, storyboarding.
  • Technical Skills:Familiarity with LMS platforms, and basic multimedia production (video/audio editing). Understanding of SCORM/xAPI and accessibility standards (WCAG basics)
  • Communication: Strong business writing and editing. Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content. Scriptwriting. Copyediting and quality assurance. Strong collaboration skills
  • Project Management:Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
