The CRE/CTE Engagement Specialist supports student engagement for students through regular student conferences/meetings, parent contact, and coaching to address both academic and social-emotional needs. The position oversees an assigned caseload of students serving as their primary point of contact with the school with the goal of increasing their academic success.
This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.
This position offers a base salary of $43,000 plus the eligibility of a performance bonus.
Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
- Oversee an assigned caseload of students serving as the primary point of contact with the school;
- Monitor student participation and work and reach out to students who are not engaging;
- Arrange support conferences as needed to address performance concerns;
- Respond promptly to students who reach out for support;
- Serve as a liaison between the student, Learning Coach, teachers and/or administration to ensure that all school personnel understand how to contact and communicate with the student in a manner that builds relationship between the student and the school;
- Provide outreach, training, and support to families;
- Provide individualized attention and support to students and Learning Coaches identified for training gaps or requesting networking within the school community;
- Serve as a point of contact for all non-instructional issues after placement, ensuring students have all necessary equipment and know both how and when to access their courses;
- Identify school programs, resources, assistance to help each family make the most of what the schools have to offer;
- Support state testing including traveling to in-person test sites throughout the state;
- Increase professional knowledge and skills by attending required staff meetings.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of college AND
- Two (2) years of experience in education OR
- Equivalent combination of education and related experience
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
- Organizations skills, multi-tasking abilities;
- Customer service focus;
- Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced work environment;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Web proficiency;
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to support state testing and attend training
- Ability to pass required background check.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with the proposed age group;
- Familiarity with the online learning experience;
- Experience coordinating academically-oriented clubs and extra-curricular activities;
- Experience supporting adults and children in learning and the use of technology;
- An ability to learn new technology tools quickly (e.g. database and web-based tools);
