Job Description:
The Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University seeks a collaborative Creative Design and Multimedia Specialist skilled in creating visual narratives across print, digital, photography, video and motion graphics. The role uses advanced design systems, software and production techniques to deliver high-quality collateral, and professional camera equipment to capture dynamic media. The position reports to the marketing director and may receive assignments from the executive director of marketing and communications or the assistant director of communications.

The role supports a future-focused creative environment and applies strategic design methods to develop assets for digital screens, websites, email, and print publications. Work aligns with ASU brand standards while cultivating a clear, consistent visual identity for the college.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000 per year; DOE
Essential Duties:
  • Develop visual content for print and digital materials, including presentations, reports, brochures, specialty items, event materials, and social media assets
  • Apply ASU brand guidelines and maintain a cohesive college-level visual identity
  • Ensure brand consistency across deliverables and communication channels
  • Design responsive layouts optimized for varied platforms and devices
  • Prepare production-ready files for both print and digital use
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Express) and demonstrate familiarity with emerging AI-powered design tools
  • Capture, edit, and produce photography and video content
  • Create motion graphics and multimedia assets using industry-standard software
  • Create graphics for, and manage and schedule building-wide digital signage
  • Apply visual design principles for web, including UI/UX best practices and accessibility standards
  • Manage file optimization, color workflows, and cross-platform compatibility
  • Translate creative briefs into visually clear, purpose-driven materials aligned with strategic objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and timelines
  • Manage multiple projects with attention to detail and quality expectations
  • Present design concepts, manage review and approval processes, and incorporate stakeholder feedback
  • Maintain organized digital asset libraries and documentation systems
  • Provide accurate project estimates and coordinate with vendors as needed
  • Support department operations through design-related administrative tasks
  • Monitor design trends, tools, and best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:
  • Background in design, fine arts, marketing, advertising, or a related field
  • Experience designing in agile or iterative environments
  • Portfolio demonstrating visual design and motion graphics experience
  • Experience integrating design across multiple mediums
  • Demonstrated initiative and follow-through from concept to completion
  • Ability to apply strategic and creative thinking with data-informed recommendations
  • Experience in organization, problem-solving, and managing competing priorities
  • Experience developing projects to meet budgets and vendor relationships
  • Knowledge of project management principles and tools such as Asana
  • Experience designing for social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram
  • Ability to develop and deploy solutions that improve the effectiveness of multimedia materials
  • Ability to provide alternative design approaches that support audience needs and communication goals
  • Ability to define tasks, document activities, and monitor progress
  • Ability to respond appropriately to requests, manage competing timelines, and communicate clearly across channels
  • Familiarity with ASU brand standards a plus

Working Environment:
  • Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
  • Regular use of standard office equipment including but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals
  • Transport and use of photographic and video equipment, including ability to lift, carry, crouch, stand, kneel or otherwise navigate room and event spaces to capture content
  • Receive and participate in regular review of completed tasks for achievement of established objectives
