Job Summary | The University Utah Marketing & Communications team is looking for a full-time, seasoned videographer/editor to fill an open position on our video team. We are looking for someone with high-production standards and tastes who can shoot beautiful footage and then turn that into a well-crafted edit and final videos. You must be adept with on-set lighting, sound and the technical aspects of running a camera. We are also looking for someone who can take direction, be collaborative, and who enjoys working hard.
The University has many stories to tell and we produce many videos a year. This requires us to sometimes work odd hours at times, weekends and put in the extra effort to create great work. We are proud of the videos we create and need a person who will contribute to our ongoing success and even elevate it.
In addition to the skillsets mentioned, being a drone pilot would be a plus. Knowing your way around After Effects and motions graphics is also helpful. Edit videos using Adobe Premier. Handle the University’s film equipment with care and safety. Keep film equipment organized and clean at UMC House. Follow directions of your supervisors and director.
Minimum Qualifications |
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Creative Media Producer, III: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences | Experience in both on-set filming and editing Availability to work occasionally on weekends and evenings, including some travel. Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude. Ability to edit videos in a timely manner, take feedback and provide updated versions. Ability to color grade and use Adobe After Effects and mix sound.
