We are currently hiring part-time, remote Curriculum Developers for ESL lessons taught on the Cambly platform for adult students of all proficiency levels. Curriculum Developers are responsible for designing, creating, and editing a variety of educational materials aligned to international standards.
The ideal candidate for this role understands language learning and has a passion for creating fun learning experiences that engage online learners. In addition, you should be skilled in visual learning design, and able to excel while working both independently and collaboratively. Cambly is a fast-paced ed-tech startup, so the ideal candidate needs to be flexible and fast-paced while taking pride in delivering exceptional, innovative content.
What you'll do
- Craft English lessons that are interesting, accessible, and grounded in pedagogical theory and best practices for student of various English proficiency levels
- Use CEFR benchmarks to create lessons that adhere to various level bands
- Use style and procedure guidelines to ensure consistency across content
- Consistently meet assigned deadlines and quality standards
- Impact tutors and students across the globe at an incredible scale
Requirements for this role
- Experience developing curricula
- Graduate degree in TEFL, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, or similar
- 3 years of experience in ESL/EFL education (teaching, lesson planning, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the Google suite of tools (Docs, Slides, etc.)
- An eye for visual design and presentational clarity
- Openness to share and receive feedback as a part of a learning team
- Deep knowledge and experience with engaging learning experiences
Exceptional candidates will have:
- Experience in online teaching and learning
- Experience in a dedicated curriculum development position
