Job Description
If you are a training professional, Emerson has an exciting opportunity to join the team in Austin, TX as an Instructor/Curriculum Developer. Our Educational Services organization is looking for individuals who are passionate in learning new technologies and motivated to impart knowledge to internal and external customers. In this role, you will be responsible for teaching and developing courses using the DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS).
The ideal candidate would have a background in process control and/or automation, and has outstanding communication skills using verbal, written, or interpersonal skills.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL: 
  • Deliver training in-house, at partner offices, or at customer sites
  • Update existing course materials as product updates release
  • Develop new course materials following Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) methodology
  • Create both instructor-led training and micro-content, small videos, style training
  • Leverage technical expertise to support classroom operation/hardware

WHO YOU ARE:
You are a passionate educator with a strong background in process control or automation, known for mastering new technologies and clearly communicating complex concepts through classroom instruction or digital content. You create impactful, learner-focused training using ADDIE methodology, regularly updating materials to reflect product changes and supporting classroom hardware as needed. Your curiosity and collaborative mentality drive continuous improvement through partner engagement, customer feedback, and a working knowledge of IT systems.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED: 
•    Bachelor's degree
•    5+ years teaching experience
•    Proficient in Microsoft Windows operating systems 
•    Strong communication skills verbal and written
•    Willingness and ability to travel 25%, mainly domestically
•    Legal authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this position  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART: 
•    Experience with DCS, PLC, SCADA, or process control, DeltaV DCS preferred
•    Experience with IT, Virtualization, System Administration
•    Teaching or training facilitation
