Customer Service Representative - Evening Shift Full Description

This position is funded for 12 months; continuation past 12 months will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.

This is a/an 75% full-time equivalency (FTE) job with months off. The number of months off will be determined by the position's FTE percentage. The timing of months off will be set to meet the needs of the unit and the essential duties of the position. Questions related to HR105 FTE positions should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process. This position is eligible for benefits associated with any full-time position. The salary grade and range listed in the posting is reflective of a 100% Full-time position. Full-time equivalency job offers may fall outside of the listed range due to the assigned percentage of effort.

 

POSITION SPECIFICS​

The Pollock Testing Center seeks a Customer Service Representative - Evening Shift. The working period is mid-August through mid-May. Upon successful performance of duties, the term position has a strong possibility of renewal.

The primary role of this position is to interact with students which includes but is not limited to:

  • Greet and check students into the Testing Center
  • Ensure that prohibited items are not brought into the testing room
  • Help students resolve test and registration issues
  • Provide information and guidance on check-in/check-out processes
  • Monitor in-progress testing
  • Regular upkeep of staff areas and the testing room
  • Provide support and develop skills for Scanning Operations

This position will need to know, understand, and follow Testing Center and PSU policies. The role interacts with faculty and staff, answering questions about the testing system, and Testing Center policy.

Requirements:

  • This is an on-site position
  • This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods and periodically walk through the testing room
  • The work schedule is second shift and is typically from 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM during days with evening testing, and first shift when there is no evening testing
  • The flexibility to take an occasional morning shift
  • The ability to learn how to use new software

Successful candidates will have strong customer service, communication skills, be detail-oriented, and be able to describe them with examples. Because we serve a diverse student population, prior experience working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures is preferred.

This position is filled at the Support level.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $33,504.00 - $48,552.00.
