The position provides operational and relationship management support for my529’s children’s savings account (CSA) and scholarship program. CSAs are education-focused savings programs run by nonprofit and government organizations. Different from traditional scholarships, CSA programs are designed to provide long-term saving or investment accounts through my529, specifically for low and moderate-income families. my529 administers an online CSA platform designed to help organizations, nationwide, administer their programs.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a real-time support to CSA programs and ensure a positive experience.
  • Stay proactively engaged with CSA programs to ensure our resources are functioning as intended and adding expected value.
  • Maintain a proficient knowledge of the 529 industry and CSAs.
  • Assist with onboarding new CSA programs and managing existing relationships by attending meetings, tracking program updates, sending follow up emails, and providing insight into best practices for using the CSA administrative site.
  • Complete Operations-related CSA tasks such as processing forms, preparing and reviewing bulk upload requests, and responding to external emails and internal Teams questions.
  • Work on solutions to bring consistency to processes, including operationalizing recurring requests and updating and creating CSA procedures and guidelines to stay compliant.
  • Respond to requests for reports and data from CSA programs who need assistance tracking their programs.
  • Assist as needed with managing internal my529 scholarship and incentive programs such as incentiFive, Fast Forward, Book Your Summer, Make Your Mark, etc.
  • Act as a liaison between CSA/Marketing and Operations, including meetings with team leads and additional training as needed.
  • Participate in creating, reviewing, and updating CSA-related my529 content such as webpages, process guides, marketing material, 529 and higher education financial literacy and presentations.
  • Attend local CSA events which sometimes occur after hours or on weekends (approximately 4-5 events or 12-15 hours each year for this position).
  • Conduct work assignments and special projects of increasing complexity, under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Preferences
  • Knowledge of 529 plans, FAFSA, or other higher education financial components.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and Tableau.
  • Organized, detail oriented and analytical.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, especially in customer relations.
  • Positive, energetic attitude and ability to engage in conversation easily.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a group environment.
  • 2-3 years of experience in operations, nonprofit program management, higher education or scholarship administration, 529 industry or other financial services, relationship management or a related field required.
