Process Automation & Analytics Specialist
Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Process Automation & Analytics Specialist to support our automation, reporting, and data quality initiatives. This role works closely with senior team members, customer service partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to build high-quality deliverables, investigate issues, and enhance the performance of our tools and workflows. This role reports to the Director, Analytics.
An ideal candidate is detail-oriented, skilled in Excel and Python, comfortable with SQL, and eager to understand the "why" behind each problem they solve. Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, organize, and validate datasets used for analytics, calculators, automation, and reporting deliverables.
- Build, update, and refine Excel-based templates, calculators, dashboards, and other logic-driven tools.
- Perform research and collaborate with stakeholders in key states to create tailored deliverables that support market growth and retention (TX Charter schools, etc.).
- Develop and maintain Python scripts for data processing, automation workflows, testing utilities, and performance improvements.
- Write and execute SQL queries to extract, analyze, and troubleshoot data across systems.
- Investigate issues reported by customer service, advisors, and internal teams; identify root causes and help deliver solutions.
- Meet with customer service and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into clear technical tasks.
- Participate in structured testing cycles and maintain documentation of test plans, results, and fixes.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of internal tools, workflows, and deliverable performance.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Excel: Advanced formulas, lookups, logical functions, pivots, structured calculators; ability to debug complex workbooks.
- Python: Ability to write clean, structured code; familiarity with libraries such as pandas, automation scripts, data processing utilities.
- SQL: Comfortable writing joins, aggregations, and filters; able to diagnose data issues using SQL queries.
- Comfortable working with structured data formats (CSV, JSON, XML).
- Ability to create and follow structured testing and documentation practices.
Communication & Collaboration
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders.
- Clear communicator who can explain logic and findings in simple terms.
- Collaborative team member who works well with customer-facing groups (e.g., customer service, implementation, advisor teams).
Problem-Solving & Work Style
- Self-starter who takes initiative and seeks to understand the underlying problem before building solutions.
- Curious and analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Organized, able to manage multiple tasks, and comfortable working in a structured workflow.
- Reliable documentation habits and willingness to ask clarifying questions when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in K–12 education.
- Experience with workflow automation tools (Power Automate, Apache Airflow, etc.).
- Familiarity with dashboarding or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker).
- Exposure to QA practices, performance optimization, or internal tooling.
- Experience improving efficiency or scalability of spreadsheets, scripts, or reporting assets.
- AWS experience.
- Understanding of Fund Accounting.
