Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Fiscal & Business Operations, the Data Analyst plays a critical role in advancing the mission of Arizona PBS by transforming complex data into meaningful insights that support decision-making across the organization.

This position partners with internal departments—including Membership, Engineering, Content, Finance, Marketing, and Business Operations—as well as key stakeholders to deliver operational, tactical, and strategic reporting solutions. The Data Analyst will manage and analyze member, donor, marketing, digital, financial, and stakeholder data; develop insightful reports and audience segmentations; and expand data resources to incorporate new data sources and entities. Using Business Intelligence tools such as Salesforce, Power BI, Marketing Cloud, Workday, and SQL, this role supports revenue growth, cost-saving initiatives, and long-term strategic goals. A core focus of the position is evolving Arizona PBS's data platform into a user-friendly, scalable ecosystem that enables teams to efficiently access, understand, and act on data. The Data Analyst is expected to operate in compliance with PBS and FCC regulations, as well as university, departmental, and Arizona Board of Regents policies and procedures.

Essential Duties:

  • Develops and manages policies and procedures relating to the entry, storage, maintenance, and security of personal and demographic data relating to students, staff, and affiliates of the university in all corporate systems.

  • Works with functional areas to develop policies, standards, definitions, and conventions governing the creation and use of enterprise bio/demo data.

  • Implements system administration procedures such as data validation processes, duplicate resolution processes, system change requests and system integration / user acceptance testing to ensure ongoing integrity and security of people data in line with university policy and procedure.

  • Establishes definitions, standards, and naming conventions for enterprise administrative data to ensure ongoing integrity, accuracy, and internal consistency of administrative data.

  • Prepares and disseminates reference sources containing pertinent policies, definitions, and other information necessary to use administrative data.

  • Business Operations Audits data and reports results to functional areas for reinforcement of established policies, standards, definitions, and conventions.

  • Supports the applicable systems and databases for access, error resolution, and processes to keep data in sync with a variety of inter-related systems.

  • Coordinates testing of new releases of the application to identify impacts to and across data libraries and/or databases to ensure data integrity

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of database practices, principles and policies regarding University data.

  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and techniques associated with administration of security permissions and access within an enterprise relational database environment.

  • Knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques of developing queries for reporting and analysis

  • Skill in facilitating meetings and consensus building.

  • Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written.

  • Previous experience as financial analyst or working with financial data.

  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with a variety of individuals.

  • Ability to demonstrated strong problem resolution skills.

  • Ability to develop and execute queries within a relational database.

  • Ability to apply good attention to detail while maintaining university perspective.

Working Environment:

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment subject to prolonged period so sitting and manipulation of computer keyboard and associated peripheral/mouse.;

  • Regularly uses a desktop/laptop computer, associated peripherals, keyboard, telephone, fax and copier.;

  • Receives managerial review of completed activities; position may supervisor student employees.
