About You
You are a data nerd with strong analytical and technical skills.  You have built and maintained data pipelines in production and you are able to make technology decisions about tooling and operations.  You are also able to untangle complex schemas across multiple databases in order to apply detailed financial business logic. You are comfortable working with engineers in other teams to communicate downstream data requirements. You are humble with a sense of humor and don’t take yourself too seriously. 

Big Challenges
  • We have many Payment Service Providers across multiple Business Entities.
  • We need to build pipelines and deploy business logic to bring financial data into NetSuite.
  • We have a MASSIVE amount of activity to be logged and parsed for social feeds and product optimization.

What you'll do
  • Become an expert in all the details of our Payment Service Provider’s raw data and our internal payment tables
  • Write SQL to transform data into a single financial model for the whole business
  • Build and maintain data pipelines from APIs, flat files, and SFTP servers through BigQuery and into NetSuite
  • Build a testing framework to ensure data quality
  • Orchestrate jobs with Airflow
  • Use Workato - a PAAS integration tool - for components of our financial data pipelines
  • Work closely with data and payments engineers to develop our internal payments systems
  • Collaborate across the data team at Chess on everything from product analytics to data platform design

Preferred Skills
  • Extensive experience with BigQuery and SQL
  • Extensive experience using Python for data pipelines
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills working in a fully distributed team
