Position Summary
Collaborate with university stakeholders to design and provide decision support for new initiatives in support of New York University’s mission. Utilize available data sources to design and develop statistical models to analyze past data and to predict future behavior. Provide quantitative analysis of various alternatives to ensure new initiatives meet operational goals. Utilize technical skills to extract and analyze data, and communication skills to present quantitative analysis to stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Business, or a related field.
Required Experience:
1+ years of experience with data collection, retrieval, analysis, and reporting in an applied context.
Preferred Experience:
2+ years with data warehousing/reporting in an institutional research environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Detail oriented and able to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency with data analysis software a must (R, SPSS, Python, JMP or equivalent). Proficiency writing SQL to query databases and manipulate data; excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; experience using business intelligence tools (Tableau/Tableau Prep or equivalent).
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Scripting/programming experience in R, SPSS, Python, JMP or equivalent strongly preferred. Consulting experience a plus. Familiarity with reporting requirements around Student Enrollment Records and Student Financial Aid. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under hard deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $58,500 - $104,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
