Job Summary  | The Public Health Analytics and Informatics department is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to join our Medicaid Analytics team! This position is contracted with the KY Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) which is designed to support program evaluation research and improving the effectiveness, economy, and the quality of services delivered to Medicaid beneficiaries. The QA Tester will work alongside the Senior Data Quality Engineer to test SQL programs, Tableau dashboards, and R scripts to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of data solutions. This role is integral to maintaining the quality of data analytics and visualization products used in biomedical research and healthcare decision-making as necessitated by the principal investigator and/contract stakeholder.

We are looking for candidates that have the following skills:
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
• Experience with Tableau for data visualization and dashboard testing.
• Knowledge of R and Python programming languages and relevant testing libraries (e.g., testthat, pytest).
• Familiarity with QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Bonus skills:
• Experience working with tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Zentrack, Bugzilla, and Git)
• Experience handling healthcare claims data, CMS data, and HIPAA/PHI data
• Story telling and stakeholder translation (turning technical reports to leadership-ready summaries.

This position is currently remote with occasional in-person meetings in Frankfort, KY. (Not Mandatory).
