Work Schedule:
8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday
Rate of Pay:
This is a full-time, on-site, Support Staff position at grade 215, with an annual salary range of $74,723 to $99,630. The salary offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.

Job Summary:
The Data Visualization Developer transforms institutional data into clear, actionable insights that support strategic planning, operational effectiveness, student success, and data-informed decision-making. This position designs, develops, and maintains dashboards, visualizations, and reporting solutions using tools such as Tableau; serves as the college’s subject matter expert in data visualization; and collaborates with stakeholders to translate data into meaningful information. The role also promotes data accuracy, reporting efficiency, and institutional data literacy through training, documentation, user support, and the development of user-friendly analytical tools.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency with data visualization platforms such as Tableau and Power BI.
  • Two or more years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or dashboard/report development.
  • Two or more years of experience working with data warehouses or data management systems and using query/reporting tools such as SQL, SSMS, TOAD, Cognos, SSRS, or Crystal Reports.
  • Strong understanding of relational database design, data warehousing, and ERP systems.
  • Experience with statistical software and programming/syntax development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership, IT, academic, and administrative stakeholders.
  • Experience presenting data analysis and research findings to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including training and presentation experience.

  • Master’s degree
  • Two or more years of experience in higher education or a similarly complex organizational environment.

Essential Duties:
Data Visualization and Reporting
Based on internal user feedback and needs, develops and maintains data visualizations and dashboards that are distributed and used throughout the College. Utilizes a variety of specialized software and technical skills to prepare data sources, create visualizations and update visualizations as needed to facilitate institutional decision-making at all levels. The specialized software and skills include SQL programming, Excel, SPSS and Tableau.
Cross-Functional Dashboard Training
Develops and delivers formal and informal training to faculty, administrators and staff in the effective usage of dashboards and visualizations created in order to facilitate data literacy and meaningful interpretation of data shared through dashboard tools.
Advanced Data Evaluation and Predictive Analysis
A small portion of information/data requests to the Data Visualization Developer will require statistical analysis beyond data visualization, including the use of specialized statistical software such as SPSS or R. The position will extract and prepare data from Ellucian Colleague to develop and maintain datasets for multiple purposes, including ad hoc data analysis, and may apply advanced statistical techniques, such as predictive modeling, regression analysis and hypothesis testing.
Participation in College Committees/Activities
Represents the Institutional Research office on various committees throughout the College. Provides general consultation for members of the College concerning data research and analysis needs, as appropriate.
