Job Summary/Basic Function
This position coordinates tutoring services in WSU Davis Tutoring Center and Writing Center. This includes face-to-face and online tutoring in both drop-in and appointment formats. Position hires, trains, schedules, and supervises 15-30+ student tutors and student office assistants who work in the center. Coordinator contributes to Learning Support in a tutor training course, observing peer tutors and lead tutors, coaches and mentors. Coordinator belongs and contributes to the Learning Support Team. Coordinator represents Learning Support to faculty, staff and administration on various committees and activities, particularly related to Davis Campus. Coordinator monitors centers budget and assessment efforts as assigned by director. The Coordinator’s office is located at the WSU Davis Campus, but this position will be required to spend some time on WSU Ogden Campus, which will require access to reliable personal transportation.
Required Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Two years of experience tutoring, and/or working in a relevant educational setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
  • Master’s degree.
  • One-year supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Starfish
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
