Job Description
The Degree Acceleration Coordinator is a full-time staff member reporting to the Manager of the Office of Degree Acceleration and working closely with the relevant university stakeholders, especially the Office of Admissions to assist students who are interested in prior learning assessment and degree acceleration options (credit by portfolio or examination, self-paced courses, AIM, alternative credit, and transfer equivalency for professional certificates). The Degree Acceleration Coordinator will serve as a point of contact for students and student-facing staff with questions about prior learning assessment opportunities and degree acceleration.
Under the direction of the Office of Degree Acceleration:
  • Serve as the primary prior learning assessment (PLA) contact to guide students on their PLA and degree acceleration options.
  • Coordinate the selection of portfolio assessor(s) and monitor the review process when applicable
  • Advise students and staff as needed on university policies and procedures related to prior learning assessments.
  • Collaborate with student-facing teams on training, communicate updated information, and assist with all standard student communication regarding degree acceleration and prior learning.
  • Participate in relevant committees, task forces, and initiatives for the Office of Degree Acceleration.
  • Help manage website content for the Office of Degree Acceleration.
  • Partner with Admissions in the creation of articulations and academic agreements where applicable.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of program/college completion requirements related to specific student demographics.

Qualifications
  • Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Student Services Administration, Student Affairs, Career Counseling, Education, Wellness, or a closely related field
  • 3+ years of experience in student advising or counseling within a higher education setting or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions in a matrix organization
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration across diverse groups
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Preferred:
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Professional development or education in student services or similar areas
  • Experience with online or hybrid student advising support
  • Experience working with graduate or medical students
  • Background in a health-related field
  • Demonstrated experience supporting learners facing a variety of life challenges
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM, Simplicity-Insight, and Banner Student Information System
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic environment

Additional Information
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $42,661.58 and $77,317.19. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
