The University of West Florida is hiring a Desktop Support Engineer to provide primary technology support to several academic and administrative departments. The role involves diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, managing technology assets, supporting IT projects, and serving as a liaison between supported departments and Information Technology Services.

Provide desktop support including hardware, software, networking, and peripheral troubleshooting.
Support classroom technology, audiovisual systems, endpoint management, and department-specific applications.
Manage Active Directory, domain administration, and endpoint compliance with IT policies.
Generate technology specifications, purchasing quotes, and coordinate hardware/software acquisitions.
Maintain accurate asset documentation and provide technical guidance to supervisors and staff.
Requires knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, TCP/IP networking, Microsoft 365, and endpoint management tools like Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Intune.
Minimum one year of professional desktop or technical support experience or equivalent certifications and education.
Salary range from $60,785 to $72,942 annually.
Preferred qualifications include associate or bachelor's degree in IT or related field and certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified, or ACSP.
Supports multiple university departments including Continuing Education, Behavior Lab, Academic Advocacy, and Enrollment Affairs.
