Job Summary  | The John and Marcia Price College of Engineering seeks a Development Professional (Assistant or Specialist) to support fundraising, donor and scholarship stewardship, industry engagement, alumni relations, and special projects. This position provides administrative, operational, programmatic support for fundraising appeals, donor acknowledgements, industry-related and alumni events, and development programs while ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and stewardship of contributions.

The role collaborates closely with College development staff, the scholarship committee, faculty, administrative leaders, industry partners, and the University’s Central Development Office to support relationship-building and fundraising goals. This position requires strong organizational skills, professional communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Responsibilities include coordination, implementation, and support of development activities consistent with the level of hire (Assistant or Specialist).

Responsibilities  | Key Responsibilities
Support fundraising activities, donor stewardship, alumni and industry engagement, and special development projects for the John and Marcia Price College of Engineering. Prepare and coordinate donor acknowledgments and stewardship, including thank-you letters, donor thank-you lists, distribution of student scholarship thank-you letters, and donor recognition materials. Coordinate with the scholarship committee to communicate donor intent, scholarship criteria, and stewardship requirements. Assist with related tracking and reporting. Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing fundraising appeals, Giving Day activities, and development-related programs and events. Support industry relations events and Engineering Alumni Association activities, including coordination with internal and external partners. Conduct donor and prospect research and maintain accurate donor and industry contact lists, including donor, alumni, and industry partner gift records in coordination with Central Development. Assist in gift processing and reconciliation in the accounting system and support tracking of donor solicitation and stewardship activities. Coordinate logistics for events, meetings, and programs, including scheduling, communications, materials preparation, vendor coordination, and onsite support. Develop, prepare, and distribute promotional and informational materials, print and digital, supporting development, alumni, and engagement activities. Provide administrative and operational support to development leadership, including scheduling, correspondence preparation, and travel arrangements. Assist with special projects, data collection, reporting, and evaluation to support development operations and strategic initiatives..

Minimum Qualifications  | EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
Development Assistant: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master’s (or equivalency) degree.
Development Specialist: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
