POSITION SPECIFICS
Penn State is currently seeking a Development Assistant to support the fundraising and stewardship efforts for the Senior Associate Vice President (SAVP), three Assistant Vice Presidents (AVPs) and development and alumni relations staff at the Commonwealth Campuses. As a member of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations, you can play an integral role in Penn State's future and contribute to one of the most successful fundraising and alumni relations operations in the country.
Reporting to the Executive Assistant, closely with the Senior Associate Vice President (SAVP), three Assistant Vice Presidents (AVPs) and development and alumni relations staff at the Commonwealth Campuses, as well as other partners, the Development Assistant will:
- Assist SAVP and AVPs in producing communication tools, i.e., meeting agendas, solicitation proposals, forms, presentations to volunteers and fundraising staff, and develop and maintain spreadsheets used for data collection and tracking;
- Articulate Penn State's needs, ambitions, and values through excellent informal and formal communications;
- Serve as liaison to Prospect Management & Analytics for the dissemination of research reports to assist SAVP, AVPs, and Directors of Campus Development (DoCDs) in identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship processes;
- Conduct donor/data research/entry in fundraising databases and process support systems including updating donor records; entering solicitation requests and guidelines; extracting research reports, donor giving, and other meeting-related information; and checking all documents for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with applicable guidelines and requirements;
- Develop processes, procedures, and recommendations for systems training to new OUD staff. This may include creating training materials and conducting specialized sessions related to University Development procedures, processes, and systems;
- Assist SAVP and AVPs with the process of establishing, monitoring, and reviewing mid-year, annual, and campaign fundraising goals. Compile reports related to the fundraising mission of the college/campus/unit. Enter FY Goal Setting targets and mid-year goal review updates in databases for units;
- Coordinate the distribution of monthly travel budgets to college, campuses, and units and track data for the SAVP and AVPs;
- Coordinate central meetings with the SAVP and AVPs, i.e., Directors' Meeting, annual and mid-year Goal Setting.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in handling and protecting strictly confidential information;
- Proficiency with University systems. Advance Web (AWA), Advance Business Intelligence (ABI), Power BI Tool, GuideLion, Lotus Notes, and eSteward are highly desired, training is available;
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills;
- The ability to create and maintain an inclusive and respectful environment for all students and colleagues;
- Proficiency in Office 365 applications (i.e. Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A proven ability to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team;
- A commitment to professional development, learning, and being mentored.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $42,100.00 - $61,000.00.
