Responsibilities  | The University of Utah Advancement Team is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Event Manager to join our passionate team of professionals. This position plays a key role in planning and executing high-impact events that support the University’s mission of fostering engagement, philanthropy, and institutional pride.
As an Event Manager, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and execute a wide range of events — from intimate donor dinners to major public celebrations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and has a passion for creating memorable experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and execute university advancement events, including donor recognition receptions, scholarship events, building dedications, and more 
Manage event budgets, timelines, contracts, and vendor relationships
Partner closely with University leadership, donors, and key stakeholders to deliver seamless and impactful experiences
Oversee event logistics with event coordinator including catering, AV, venue setup, guest lists, parking/transportation, and printed materials
Provide on-site leadership and support during events, ensuring smooth execution
Prepare post-event reports, manage follow-up communications, and track ROI
Use the Advancement CRM, project management and event marketing tools
Work proactively to understand and navigate the university’s complex administrative and academic structures
Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
3+ years of event planning and management experience, preferably in higher education, nonprofit, or related fields
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of personalities and stakeholders
Proficiency in event planning software, Microsoft Office Suite, and comfort with CRM/database tools
Availability to work evenings and weekends as required
