| Job Summary | The University of Utah Office of Alumni Relations (U Alumni) is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and student focused professional for the role of Student Engagement Specialist. This role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of student engagement initiatives within the U Alumni office, with primary responsibility of assisting in the management and operations of the Student Alumni Board (SAB) and The MUSS (Mighty Utah Student Section). The Student Engagement Specialist will work closely with student leaders and campus partners to enhance student experience through events, traditions, athletics engagement, and other student-facing programs. This position also supports the outreach and promotional efforts related to student engagement programming including communications, social media content, and promotion strategies that help increase awareness and student participation in MUSS and SAB programs and events. The successful candidate will be a highly organized and collaborative self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, student-facing environment and is passionate about elevating the student experience at the University of Utah and fostering Utah pride, campus involvement, and lifelong connections to the U. About The MUSS (Mighty Utah Student Section): The purpose of the MUSS Board is to inspire school spirit, promote athletic events on campus, act as an active participant at athletic events and encourage a lifelong love and loyalty to the University of Utah. The primary goals of the MUSS Board are: 1. To promote an inclusive atmosphere on campus so all students feel welcome at athletic events 2. Create a substantial ‘home-field’ or ‘home-court’ advantage for our athletic teams 3. Act as a liaison between the athletics department and the student body The MUSS board consists of approximately 24 students that are divided into 4 committees: Football, Olympic Sports, Basketball and Marketing. About the Student Alumni Board (SAB): The mission of the Student Alumni Board is to enhance the student experience and cultivating future engaged University of Utah alumni by fostering leadership development, nurturing a philanthropic spirit, encouraging student participation within the U of U community, and promoting and preserving Utah Traditions. The board consists of approximately 24 students that are divided into 4 committees: Campus Engagement, Food Drive, Marketing and Traditions. Work Environment: This role requires a balance of office-based work and in-person event facilitation. Including evening and weekend responsibilities associated with campus and Utah Athletics events. |
