Position Description
Advertised Job Summary | The purpose of the Digital Content Creator is to advance the Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing’s brand by playing an important role in the development and delivery of high-quality digital content that aligns with marketing, communications, and enrollment efforts. This position works under general supervision of the Director of Marketing and Communications and contributes to content planning and production across multiple platforms. This role involves creativity, initiative, and storytelling. The digital content creator will be intricate in the college efforts to help capture and create photography, video, and digital media that highlight the College’s programs, people, activities and impact to life. The Digital content creator will have a “facing” impact on driving audience engagement, brand awareness and measurable outcomes.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience | Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
Preferred Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Journalism, Visual Arts, or a related field. 1-3 years of professional experience in content creation, social media management, or digital marketing. Demonstrated experience producing both photography and video content for organizational or brand use using DSLR systems with a strong digital portfolio showcasing marketing-oriented work. Experience managing social media accounts across multiple platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, X).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, and After Effects) and other content creation platforms, including Canva and CapCut, with experience operating DSLR cameras, lighting equipment, and audio recording tools. Ability to develop engaging visual and written content tailored to diverse audiences and platforms while maintaining adherence to brand guidelines, utilizing effective storytelling techniques and audience engagement strategies. Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing responsibilities, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and adapt quickly to changing priorities and emerging content needs. Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills, particularly in content production, asset management, performance tracking, and the analysis of engagement metrics to refine strategies and expand audience reach. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities, with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively while building effective relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external partners. Creative, proactive, and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving, with the ability to think strategically and respond effectively to evolving challenges.
Job Duties
Job Duty | Film, shoots, and edits photography and video content for web, print, and social media, applying established practices and techniques across all stages of production (setup, lighting, audio, filming, and editing). Uses sound judgment to ensure content aligns with departmental and university standards.
